Hope against all hope…

When Linda Crane goes home for a visit, she is saddened to find that nothing has changed regarding her judgemental family. She is about to give up on her dream of happiness when she runs into the only light that has ever been bright enough to make all her shadows disappear.

He still hasn't found what he’s looking for…

Marc Divanti once sang to a beautiful woman, and even after years of travelling abroad, the free-spirited guitarist realises that something is missing from his life. Believing in preordained love, he is swept off his feet when he meets her again.

Love is a choice, but is it strong enough to break the chains of the past?

Review:
The guy on the cover is Marc Divanti, a guitarist who Linda has adored for a while now and runs to when things with her parents go wrong as she thinks he accepts her more than her family does. Being a free spirit, he has nothing and no one in his way to travel with his trustee guitar, unlike Linda. She seems close to her family and hopes that one day they will grow to accept her, but here she might also be wrong.

Romance novels can have different effects depending on the type of person reading them. Mela Ciano has the ability to show how home life is different depending on the family you have. Linda's family will never accept her for who she is and what she stands for, while Marc has a family who have enjoyed their time when he was around, but felt he should go and see the world around him. So while one family doesn't want their daughter to have a life of her own, another admires their free-spirited son. I am supposing here that the difference is in the sex, but readers will find out the full reasons when they read the book.

Way back, Marc had drifted into her life as a young man with a full knowledge of the arts and love, also how to woo a girl, Linda. She loved him, and would have stayed with him if it weren't for her parents and every day that goes by she regrets letting her parents decide her life for her.

The two are soon reunited with the hope they can get back together without her parents interfering and enjoy their life together, but the hurt and pain of being without each other can taint and harm an otherwise great couple, whether they are supposed to be together or not. Linda and Marc are meant for better things, love and contentment being two of them. This time it is up to Marc and Linda to make their relationship work against the odds in this well-written and emotional novel of love trying to conquer everything.
