As a cop Heath is still getting over the loss of his wife. He wakes up on a morning and in remembers his dream when he held her in his arms, and the feelings hurt deeper each time. He has her photo by his bedside, and still longs for the time when he can see her again, knowing his hopes are futile. His life isn't anything he would call decent either, due to her death he hasn't felt like cleaning up the house, litter is strewn all over the place, and he is just living his life for his job as a cop - it's tough and he doesn't see a way out of feeling helpless and unhappy.

TRISH JACKSON'S BLOG WAY OUT OF LINE

Way out of Line is not a traditional romance. I've always known this, and my publisher knew it but she decided to take a chance on it and since I already write romantic suspense, that's what we called it.

I have to thank writer Trish Jackson for her appreciation of my review of Way Out of Line. Her novel isn't a traditional romance in the sense of the word, but quite an original idea for a suspense style romance instead. I have always liked reading novels that don't quite fit in with the norm, so I jumped at the chance of reading and writing about this one.

LONG WANG AND THE YELLOW EMPEROR

Long Wang and the Yellow Emperor a story by A.J. Damian

In the court of Emperor Liu Tsu the prince had a lover called Wang, and every time he looked at him he thought these things; his eyes were like the onyx that was inlaid within his most prized sword, lips were the colour of the inside of a conch shell from the sea, teeth the whiteness of the pearls around his throat, hair that shone as blinding as the ebony his father had a plentiful supply of, and his member he called his jade stem for it was so prized by him it could have been a grand stem in the royal lake that bore a lotus flower, the largest there.

"Your highness, why the long face?"

"Wang, my love the time has come for me to wed and I feel I am not ready."

Wang smiled at him instead, trying to settle him. "I take it your father wishes you to marry a girl."

Many will remember him more for his hilarious stand-up comedy routines with Fanny the Wonderdog. This is his first novel told in the first person, it is witty, funny and deliberately over the top most of the way through.

GUEST POST ON MRS CONDIT READS BY AJ DAMIAN

Guest Post on Mrs Condit Reads by AJ Damian for "Life's A Beach."
The "Boys of Summer," anthology published by STARbooks Press was too good to pass up for me as I already had an idea of what kind of M/M romance story to write.

My guest spot on Mrs Condit Reads went really well and the reception to my work went even better.

It was an absolute privilege to have my guest post featured on here with such a lot of interest this year about my story "The Wrong Guy" from STARbooks Press's M/M anthology "Unmasked and Undressed 3."
