ROMANCE REVIEW: SECRETS OF A GENTLEMAN ESCORT BY BRONWYN SCOTT

Secrets of a Gentleman Escort
Bronwyn Scott
Publisher:Mills & Boon
Pages: 288

Synopsis:
Lady Alicia Burroughs enjoys a night of passion with serious rake Nicholas D'Arcy. He's the talk of the ton, being a handsome young man, and being nearly caught romping passionately with her makes him wary of ever coming back. This doesn't stop his dallying with countless other named women and when he gets caught by a jealous husband, he has to go to the countryside to accept his punishment.

Review:
As Nicholas D'Arcy was very close to being exposed,he believes he has let down the League of Descree Gentlemen to which he belongs as a gentleman escort. Discretion being the better part of valour, he hopes this might have taught him a valuable lesson - never to get caught, yet also being a man who likes a good tumble with the ladies, he forgets at times and gets into some awful scrapes. If found out, Nicholas could be in for a shock, at worst a duel to the death. His latest conquest is Annorah Price-Ellis,a woman who wants five nights of sex with a man of breeding before she has to marry. She's sent him a letter and waits for him to arrive, hoping he is as handsome and impressive as she had hoped.

Good Bits:
* Lord Burrough's trellis - it's not for the roses!
* The secret order of the League of Descreet Gentlemen. The women did business with them on the basis that the husbands did not find out.
* Getting to know the 'rakes who make husbands jealous.'

Summary: This is one of my favourite books of 2014 as it is full of good humour and interesting twists and turns.

  1. Mills & Boon are my thing, so this was a no brainer. I'd not read it before, so wondered why it was never on my list. Nicholas sounds like a real hottie. Like the idea of good bits in this review. Nice touch. :)
